From being on the BA fashion studies course, I had signed up to go on the New York trip with them which was in February.
I have been to New York before but I knew this was going to be all fashioned based, and I haven’t experienced that side of New York so I was really excited.
It finally came to the day of going to New York and we had an early start, I had to set off to university for 7:15am, the coach was running late and didn’t arrive till 8.30. there wasn’t much traffic as they had expected to we had arrived at the airport quite early, so we had a lot of waiting around to do before we could check in. so everyone jus chilled on the floor and got some coffee.
We finally checked in and had to go through security check, off course it had to be me who set of the alarms! The lady througherly checked me for about 10 mins no joke! I said to her it must be my jewellery but she got out all these funky gadgets to check me out, then finally made me put my arm through the monitor and realised it was my bracelets – was quite scary!! Had a while until we went to our gate so Sophie and I went and got some lunch.
Finally off to our gate
I have never been so nervous about flying before, it must have been to do with the whole twin towers situation, but my mate Sophie managed to calm me down and luckily on the plane we managed to swap seats so we sat next to each other. The flight felt like it was dragging on for ages, I just wanted to land, was so tired and irritated, but we luckily had TVs so got to watch a lot of films.
Whoop New York
we landed fine, there was a bit of a situation at customs, but it got all sorted THANKFULLY. The coach was really late – which wasn’t great as everyone was so tired and had, had enough of waiting around etc. The coach journey was about 45 min drive which wasn’t that bad, as we got to see a bit of new York all lit up on our journey to the hotel, the skyline was amazing. You could tell everyone on the coach was really impressed because when they first got a glimpse of some New York buildings lit up every one because when they first got a glimpse of some New York buildings lit up every one on the coach went, “WOWWWWW”!
The Hotel
finally got to the hotel, the corridors were so scary, it was as it was the film, ‘the shinning ‘. It took the four of us about 5 minutes to get into our room, as we couldn’t work out how to use the key ha-ha!

From the reviews I was expecting the room to be a lot worse than it was, the plugs were hanging out of the wall the ceiling in the bathroom was hanging down, the bath first poured out a bit of black water – but it could have been a lot worse. In our rooms there was a door connecting to the next room, but was blocked off by a thin wall, my roommates seemed a bit freaked out by this especially with the corridors etc, so I blocked the door off for them!! The four of us went and got McDonalds and went to bed, as we were all quite jetlagged.
